Principal's Message
Hello Teston Village PS families,
Thank you to all of our students and staff for another wonderful week of learning.
This is a reminder to:
Complete the YRDSB Back-to-School forms (see information below).
Sign up for your EDSBY Account -- for messages and to report an absence
Purchase a pizza lunch before the deadline
For the month of September, our focus is on respect. At TVPS, we respect ourselves and treat others with courtesy, dignity, and positive regard. We honour the rights of others. We respect their belongings, the environment, and the world around us. At home, I encourage you to talk with your child about what respect looks like at home, at school, and in the community.
Student Safety: Please support us in ensuring all of our students are safe by following traffic rules and speed limits around the school. The safest and healthiest way to get your child to school is to walk. We also ask that all parents let us know through EDSBY or a phone call if your child is going to be late or absent. We have a legal obligation to ensure that each child is safely accounted for each day. Daily attendance at school is important for consistent learning and success for students in their academics, friendships, and sense of belonging.
Here are a few quick reminders as we continue to build a successful start to the year.
Communication: Please check your email and our school portal regularly for upcoming events, classroom updates, and announcements.
Routines: Consistent morning and dismissal routines help our students feel secure and ready for a successful day.
Get Involved: Keep an eye out for upcoming opportunities to join our parent council, volunteer, or attend school events. We love seeing our families involved!
If you ever have questions, feedback, or need assistance, please never hesitate to reach out to our office team or your child’s teacher. We are all here to support you and your children.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend and another great week ahead!
Sincerely,
Ms. S. Mediratta

SAFETY WEEK IS COMING IN OCTOBER
The York Region School Board is committed to ensuring the safety of students, staff, and visitors in the event of an emergency situation. As such, during Safety Week and throughout the school year, schools in our Board practise various safety drills, including Fire Drills, Lockdown Drills, Hold and Secure Drills and the newly established Bomb Threat Drill. It is critical that all members of our school community become familiar with emergency protocols as they are designed to keep all of us safe at school. Please refer to Board Policy #669.0 for more information about Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management.
We are Looking for Volunteers!
If you are interested in being a school volunteer, contact the main office and speak with Ms. DiRoma. A vulnerable sector check from the YRP is needed and is valid for the school. This is a great way to be involved in the school, to help out, and to join classes on a school trip or special event.
