Principal's Message

Dear Teston Village PS Families,

What a wonderful week it has been at Teston Village!

As we wrap up the first week of June, we are so proud of the effort our students continue to demonstrate each day. With only a few weeks remaining in the school year, we encourage everyone to stay positive, keep trying their best, and finish the year strong.

• Each homeroom will have its own page.

June is Pride Month. 

June is Pride Month, and on Wednesday morning we gathered as a school community at the flagpole to raise the Pride Flag and reflect on the importance of inclusion, belonging, and respect. We were pleased to welcome members of our community, including families from our CAPC program and our adult ESL learners.

For those who were unable to attend, we have included the message that was shared during the ceremony:

Today, we are gathering to raise the Pride Flag. At Teston Village, this flag reminds us of something that is important in our school community: every person deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued.

Our school is made up of people with different backgrounds, experiences, cultures, beliefs, identities, and perspectives. Those differences are part of what makes our community strong. While we may not all think the same way or share the same experiences, we can all choose to treat one another with kindness, dignity, and respect.

The Pride Flag is a symbol of inclusion and belonging. It reminds us that everyone should feel welcome in our school and that no one should feel excluded, isolated, or unsafe because of who they are. Today is also an opportunity to reflect on the role each of us plays in creating a positive school community. The way we speak to one another, include others, stand up against unkindness, and show respect matters. Small actions can make a big difference in helping someone feel that they belong.

As we raise the Pride Flag, let us recommit ourselves to making Teston Village a place where everyone is treated with dignity, where differences are respected, and where every student knows they matter.

Track and Field Regionals

Congratulations to all of our Track and Field athletes on a successful season. We have students who received a ribbon at the Area Track and Field meet this week. We sent two buses over two days to Emily Carr SS for some fun and competition. 

We are excited to announce that we had 10 top-6 finishers at the Track and Field Meet.

• Gr6 - Ayhaam - Shotput - 2^nd place

• Gr8 - Amsaal - Running Long Jump - 6^th Place

• Gr4 - Wynton - Running Long Jump - 6^th Place

• Gr4 - Daniyal - Standing Long Jump - 2^nd Place

• Gr7 - Nya - Triple Jump - 2^nd Place

• Gr8 - Noor - Triple Jump - 4^th Place

• Gr8 - Amsaal - Triple Jump - 5^th Place

• Gr4 - Wynton - Triple Jump - 5^th Place

• Gr8 - Noor - 800m  - 2^nd Place

• Gr8 - Jesus - 100m - 1^st Place! 

Our 1st and 2nd place finishers have qualified for Regionals will represent Teston Village on Thursday, June 18th at Bill Crothers SS.

We are proud of your hard work, determination, and sportsmanship, and we wish you the very best in your upcoming events.

Tornado Fest Success!

What a fantastic evening we had at Tornado Fest!

The weather was perfect, and it was wonderful to see so many families come together to enjoy an evening of games, arts and crafts, food, treats, music, and community spirit. Events like this help create lasting memories and strengthen the connections that make Teston Village such a special place.

A heartfelt thank you to:

• Our student and parent volunteers who generously gave their time to support the event

• The TVPS staff who joined us and helped make the evening so enjoyable

• Our School Council members, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organize and run the entire event

Most importantly, thank you to our families. The success of an event like Tornado Fest depends on community participation, and we are grateful that so many of you came out to celebrate with us. We hope you had a wonderful evening and will join us again next year.
