Principal's Message
Hello Teston Village PS families,
Thank you for another wonderful week at TVPS!
Our character trait for October is responsibility, and this week we are talking about taking care of our school and belongings.
Label your belongings.
If you put your child's name on their belongings, it will be much easier to find it or return it to them when it is lost. Please remember to write your child's name on the inside of their jackets, shoes, and lunch bags.
Pack a spoon or fork from home.
Our office team has been happy to help students during the first month of school as everyone settled into new routines. As we move forward, we kindly ask families to double-check lunch bags before leaving home to make sure everything is packed—including a spoon or fork if needed. Being prepared helps students take responsibility for their belongings and keeps lunchtime running smoothly for everyone.
A big thank you to all the families who joined us for Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday.
It was wonderful to see students proudly guiding their families through classrooms, sharing their work, and showing off their learning spaces with excitement and confidence.
We are also grateful to Ms. Oh and our team of volunteers who supported families in completing their start-up packages during the evening. A special thank you to Mr. Chan, Ms. Ntiri, Ms. Bassi, Ms. Anand, and Ms. Figliomeni for helping to cut and serve cake in the gym before classroom visits. It added such a warm and sweet welcoming touch to the event.
Our appreciation also goes to CCSYR, Vaughan Public Library, and CAPC, our community partners, for setting up their information booths with valuable resources to support our community.
Finally, our Fall Book Fair, led by Ms. Reid, was a great success! Thanks to your support, we sold over $1,200 in books and accessories. Your purchases help our school library continue to grow and provide new books and resources for students to enjoy throughout the year.
October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month: Week 2 -- App Age Limits Aren't Random
Most apps have age minimums based on privacy laws and built-in features like messaging or live chat, and children using platforms designed for older users may be exposed to increased risk. Take a moment to review one app your child uses and confirm the account age is accurate and reflects their real age. Click here to read more: App Age Limits Aren’t Random
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend and another great week ahead!
Sincerely,
Ms. S. Mediratta

We are looking for volunteers!
If you are interested in being a school volunteer, contact the main office and speak with Ms. DiRoma. A vulnerable sector check from the YRP is needed and is valid for the school. This is a great way to be involved in the school, to help out, and to join classes on a school trip or special event.
