Principal's Message
Hello Teston Village PS families,
Thank you for another wonderful week at TVPS!
Our character trait for October is responsibility, and this week we are talking about taking care of our belongings.
Label your belongings.
Please remind your child to keep shoes, coats, and sweaters on their hooks and to label personal items so they can be returned if lost. The lost and found bin is filling up quickly, and we cannot return items to students when they are not clearly labeled with a name on them. Small steps like these help keep our school tidy and organized, and prevent items from going missing.
Pack a spoon or fork from home.
Our office team has been happy to help students during the first month of school as everyone settled into new routines. As we move forward, we kindly ask families to double-check lunch bags before leaving home to make sure everything is packed—including a spoon or fork if needed. Being prepared helps students take responsibility for their belongings and keeps lunchtime running smoothly for everyone.
A big thank you to all the families who joined us for Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday.
It was wonderful to see students proudly guiding their families through classrooms, sharing their work, and showing off their learning spaces with excitement and confidence.
We are also grateful to Ms. Oh and our team of volunteers who supported families in completing their start-up packages during the evening. A special thank you to Mr. Chan and Ms. Figliomeni for helping to cut and serve cake in the gym before classroom visits. It added such a warm and sweet welcoming touch to the event.
Our appreciation also goes to CCSYR, our community partners, for setting up an information booth with valuable resources to support newcomer families at Teston Village.
Finally, our Fall Book Fair, led by Ms. Reid, was a great success! Thanks to your support, we sold over $1,200 in books and accessories. Your purchases help our school library continue to grow and provide new books and resources for students to enjoy throughout the year.
Sincerely,
Ms. S. Mediratta
