Orange Shirt Day is on Tuesday.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, will be observed on September 30th in Canada.  It is a solemn occasion dedicated to acknowledging the historical and ongoing injustices faced by First Nations, Métis and Inuit. It serves as a vital step towards reconciliation and understanding, providing an opportunity to learn about the painful legacy of residential schools and the enduring trauma experienced by Indigenous communities. On Monday, schools across the country also recognize Orange Shirt Day, which specifically remembers the story of Phyllis Webstad, a survivor of the residential school system, who had her new orange shirt taken away on her first day at school. Please wear an Orange shirt on Tuesday for Orange Shirt Day.

The annual Scholastic Book Fair is coming!

October 6th - 9th, Ms. Reid will host our book fair. Students will have the opportunity to visit the library and check out the new book collection and make their wish list. The book fair is open on Curriculum Night for families to visit together and purchase a new book to add to their collection.

Curriculum Night is on Thursday, October 9th.

5:00pm - 5:30pm: Meet in the gym for conversation and a slice of cake! Meet the Principal.

5:30pm - 6:30pm: Classroom visits with your children and Meet the Teacher.

Reminder - Lunch Hour expectations

** NEW** Disposable drink cups NOT allowed.

Drink cups that are from fast food locations or paper/disposable cups with a plastic lid or drinks that are without a closed lid will be held in the office. -- This is to prevent spilling large sugary drinks in the classroom. Students can pick it up at the end of the day to take it home.

End of day, picking up your kids.

We are kindly asking that families make an effort to consider picking up their children after the school day is over and avoid early pickup between 2:00 and 2:35pm. It is so important that we are not constantly calling into classrooms and looking to pull children out of class, if it can be avoided. We will be reviewing how we can safely support our bus lines and manage the growing number of students who continuously are signed out early at the end of the day.
