Principal's Message
Dear Teston Village PS Families,
What a wonderful week it has been at Teston Village!
We did it!
We are excited to share that we have officially reached our Jump Rope for Heart fundraising goal of $800! Congratulations and thank you to all of our students, families, and staff who helped us reach this milestone. Your generosity will support the important work of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Our donation page remains active, and our school-wide Jump Rope for Heart celebration will take place on May 28th. Stay tuned for more details about this exciting event.
Teston Attends the YRDSB Prompt‑a‑Thon
YRDSB recently held its first Prompt‑a‑Thon, giving students the opportunity to explore real‑world challenges using generative AI. We had staff and students attend, and they worked through a process of researching, refining their ideas, and evaluating AI-generated responses to develop their solutions. We are so proud of our team, who competed against students across the board and enjoyed the experience. Thank you, Mr. Constantopoulos, for your interest and enthusiasm for this event.
Badminton Regionals
Yesterday, our Intermediate Girls Doubles Champions - Aayma and Unta, competed at badminton regionals, where they faced intense competition. Though they didn't make it to the finals, they represented Teston Village with grace, determination, and sportsmanship, and most importantly, had a great time. Thank you for a wonderful season!
Burlington Outdoor Resource Centre (BORC)
This week, students in Grades 2, 4, and one of our Grade 7 classes attended the Burlington Outdoor Resource Centre (BORC). The weather could not have been more perfect for a day of outdoor learning. We heard stories of trail walks, nature exploration, and even a student who had the opportunity to touch a garter snake! We hope our students made wonderful memories while connecting with nature. Next week, we will send one final group of students to enjoy this experience.
EQAO has started
EQAO has now begun for our Grade 6 students, and next week our Grade 3 students will begin their assessment. For students participating, we encourage families to focus on the basics: a good night's sleep, a healthy breakfast, arriving on time, and coming to school ready to do their best. There is no need to study. We simply want students to approach the assessment with confidence and a positive mindset.

Understand what is being taught at your child's grade level
If your child requires an exemption, you can collect an exemption form from the main office. The teacher will not send home an exemption letter.
For the exemption, this form must be completed and returned to the school 5 days before the lessons begin to be able to make accommodation arrangements—check your child's letter for when it is due back to the teacher
