Principal's Message
Hello Teston Village PS Families,
Thank you for another wonderful week of learning. This week we had some rainy weather, which made our outside conditions wet, cold, mild, slushy, and slippery. As always, please ensure that you check the weather and dress your child appropriately. As we know, "March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb." Here is a great audio book to learn more about this expression. As we enter the Mid- Winter break, we wish everyone a restful week ahead. The mid-winter break is a wonderful opportunity for students and staff to relax and recharge their batteries. We always find that once we return from the break, time at school goes by very quickly. Before we know it, spring will be here, and we will be looking towards the end of the school year.
International Women's Day was on Saturday, March 8th.
Every day belongs to women, and on March 8th, we pause and reflect on how amazing they are. When we reflect on the women who make a difference in our lives, we express gratitude for them, celebrate their achievements, and reflect on the progress through history. There are so many amazing women in our lives, and we are fortunate to receive their love, friendship, mentorship, support, and companionship. Our wish is that the amazing women of our Teston Village community had fabulous day to be in the spotlight!
Navroz/Nowruz will be celebrated on March 20th, 2026.
Nowruz means New Day and depending on the community celebrating this day. The ‘New Day’ represents the New Year which falls on the date of the vernal (spring) equinox and symbolizes renewal after winter, and is celebrated by multiple faiths, cultural groups, and countries around the world. Nowruz is considered the New Year and also a cultural celebration, and on this day, people commit to a fresh start, full of joy and hope for the coming year. Families and friends may gather for a celebratory dinner, wearing new clothes and offering gifts to the children present. The (Haft-Seen) table is decorated, and it is a day to reflect in gratitude for one’s blessings and foster an outlook of hope and optimism for the future. To all students, families, and staff who celebrated this day, we wish you a Happy New Year! Navroz Mubarak!
Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on March 20th, 2026
We are delighted to send our best wishes for a wonderful Eid-ul-Fitr to those members of our Teston Village PS community and staff who will be celebrating this lunar-based celebration next week. The end of the holy month of Ramadan is a special time for Muslims in our community and around the world to celebrate with loved ones. It is a time to appreciate the importance of gratitude, compassion and generosity and be surrounded by feasts, laughter and prayer to fill so many homes and hearts. On behalf of all of us, have a safe and beautiful holiday. Eid Mubarak.
Parking in the Teston Village school parking lot is not permitted for personal or private use.
You will notice that every day our school parking lot is full and each night our lot is empty with the exception of school buses or school board vehicles. Our school parking lot is not available for overnight parking from anyone in our neighbourhood. Signs in our parking lot clearly state that evening and overnight vehicles in the school parking lot are not permitted. Vehicles who do not follow the signs will receive a step 1 letter on their car with a reminder and next steps message from the school and school board.
If you are parking overnight or you know who is parking in our lot, please share this final message that those parking illegally are subject to a tag or for a tow. We appreciate your understanding and support.
For the month of March, the character trait that we will be focusing on is perseverance. At TVPS, we stick to a goal and work hard even in the face of obstacles and challenges. We do not give up and know that great things will follow when we work for it!
Thank you,
Have a wonderful break, and we will see you all on Monday, March 23rd!
Sincerely,
Ms. S. Mediratta

Our Nutrition Program and how it works:
This program is intended to provide students with a nutritious boost during the school day. We are grateful for the many thoughtful lunches and snacks that families send with their children each day. We know that packing healthy food options takes planning and care.
To help ensure the Nutrition Program continues to support students who need an additional snack during the morning, we will be returning to the routine we began the school year with:
Snacks will be available after 8:45 a.m. (once Safe Arrival is complete)
Snack access will close when morning recess ends at 10:30 a.m.
A produce item will remain available until 11:00 a.m.
During March Break, it may be a good opportunity to speak with your child about the foods they enjoy and would like included in their lunch bag. As students are very active throughout the day, adding an extra snack or a greater variety of snacks from home can help ensure they have enough energy for learning, play, and physical activity. Our Nutrition Program will continue to be available for students who need it, and we appreciate your partnership in helping us keep this program supportive and sustainable for everyone.
