Principal's Message
Hello Teston Village PS families,
This week at Teston Village, our school community came together to celebrate friendship, learning, and well-being.
Students enjoyed Friendship Day on Friday, February 13th, with many choosing to wear red and pink to recognize kindness and connection. Friendship Candy-Grams were also distributed, bringing smiles to students who shared a small treat with their friends.
Throughout the week, students in each division gathered in the gym for our Caring and Safe Schools presentations. These sessions reviewed the YRDSB Code of Conduct, online safety, healthy relationships, items that are not permitted at school, and the steps of progressive discipline. Students were reminded of the importance of keeping hands and feet to themselves, seeking help from a trusted adult when needed, and making safe choices while playing in the snow.
We were also pleased to welcome the Aurora Cultural Centre’s Kaleidoscope in the Schools (KITS) program, featuring The Power and Evolution of the Hoop Dance. Makhena introduced students to the hoop dance as a meaningful medicinal and storytelling tradition and shared the inspiring origin story of Pokawis.
A reminder that Monday is Family Day, and schools will be closed. We hope families enjoy this additional time together, creating meaningful memories with loved ones.
Sincerely,
Ms. S. Mediratta

Parking Lot Safety Reminders!
Please remember:
Our bus loop in front of our school is also our emergency lane. Those who park there should realize they may receive a very expensive ticket from the Vaughan by-law officers because this is a fire zone.
In our bus loop, stopped cars block the entrance or exits, which makes it very difficult for buses to enter and exit. Do not use the bus loop for pickup or drop-off.
Be on the lookout for walking children at all times. Remind your passengers that they should be wearing their seatbelts, even on a short drive home.
Do NOT drop off your children while driving through a live lane. The driving lane next to the Kiss and Ride is an unsafe location to stop your car and let your children off. We do not want children walking in between cars or walking into the Kiss and Ride lane. This is absolutely not safe, and staff have been asked to remind families to park their cars or enter the Kiss and Ride lane.
