September 12th Reminders

Reminders

Something new for our parents this year is that we will be writing biweekly newsletters to families. In between you will see some quick reminders or announcements that we want to make sure that you do not miss!

  1. Visit our refreshed website to stay informed! We post our weekly newsletters online and there is other information that you will find helpful all on our website https://testonvillage-ps.yrdsb.ca/

  2.  Pickup, drop-off, and attendance.

  • If a student arrives at school after the entry bell (8:15am) in the morning or after lunch (12:55pm), they are considered late, and we will mark them late on the attendance. Exceptions are when the bus arrives late to school.

  • Due to the impact on end-of-day routines, we are going to have a review with the School Council of the latest possible time to pick up students before the end of the day. Stay tuned.

  1.  The school start-up package needs to be completed.

  • The forms are online. They include a lot of information that we need from you! Allergy information, locker agreement, technology agreement, lunch permission, sports teams, activities, and more.

  • ** We ask that Start-Up Packages be complete for students to use Chromebooks at school.

  • Ask your children to help out! https://startupforms.yrdsb.ca/

  1. Lunch hour dropping off food.

  • Any lunch dropped off to school from 12:10pm onward will not be accepted.

  • Families who drop off a lunch after 12:10pm will be asked to sign out their children for lunch, and the students can rejoin everyone else at the back of the school after they are done. Students do not eat lunch in the main office or in the main entrance area. Late lunches are not accepted because we do not have supervision inside the building for students to eat their lunch after the recess bell.

  • Lunch hour—dropping off drinks **NEW**
We will hold onto drink cups in the office that are from fast food locations, or paper/disposable cup with a plastic lid or drinks that are without a closed lid. -- This is to prevent spilling large sugary drinks in the classroom. These spills often end up on student desks, floors, and clothing. Sugary drinks also attract unwanted bugs and ants into classrooms. We encourage other options that are safer to handle and less likely to cause a spill. We always recommend water as the best choice! Students can pick it up at the end of the day to take it home. To make things easier for families, please do not send these drinks to school or include them in your lunches that you drop off.

  1. Pizza Lunch!

  • To order pizza, payments are made using School Cash Online. If you have not already registered your account for all of your children, this is the time to do that.

2025 Terry Fox Run at Teston Village

On Thursday, September 25th, students at TVPS will participate in the annual Terry Fox School Run. It is an afternoon of celebrating Terry’s legacy and helping to keep his dream of a cure for cancer alive. Throughout the day, all of our students will run or walk to support this important event. The event will take place on the back field of the school, and the distance of the run will vary according to the grade of the student.

Please join us and support this wonderful cause by donating using this link for TVPS. Our goal is $1000.00 and to achieve that, all it takes is $3.00 from each person at TVPS or a donation of any amount at this link. https://schools.terryfox.ca/107507
